Read MoreThe walk to the first day of class was a history lesson itself as I turned down West 44th Street in Midtown Manhattan. Classical architecture surrounded me; doric columns and stacked stone flank both sides of the street along with brass door details and rich carvings in Beaux-Arts style. The history of Manhattan lies in these old buildings built in the mid 1800's and I welcomed the introduction to the neighborhood.
